Compliance & Safer Recruitment

We make it simple for schools to onboard legally compliant, properly vetted people. Before anyone starts, we send you a concise Compliance Pack so you can update your Single Central Record (SCR) and proceed with confidence.

Checks we complete (and evidence we provide)

  • Pre-screening summary
    Brief phone/video screen confirming role fit, availability, locations, salary/FTE, visa/RTW status, safeguarding awareness.
  • Identity & address verification
    Government photo ID check plus proof(s) of address (e.g., utility/bank/tax document) and face-to-document match.
  • Right to Work in the UK
    In-person or remote RTW check to current guidance (share code/BRP/visa recorded; expiry tracked).
  • DBS & barred list
    Enhanced DBS certificate (number/issue date) or Update Service status check (with consent), plus children’s barred list check where regulated activity applies.
  • Teacher Services checks
    Prohibition from teaching (all teaching roles) and Section 128 for leadership/management posts (including academy management roles).
  • Qualifications & status
    QTS/ECT status and degree/subject for teachers; role-relevant certificates for support staff (e.g., finance, IT, exams/data).
  • References & full employment history
    Recent professional references (school-based where possible), with explained gaps and outcomes noted.
  • Self-declaration (shortlisted only)
    A confidential self-declaration form completed by shortlisted candidates covering relevant criminal history and medical fitness. We review with the candidate and share outcomes with the school before DBS results.
  • Overseas background (if applicable)
    Overseas criminal record/letter of professional standing for periods living/working abroad (where available/appropriate).
  • Role pack
    CV, concise competency snapshot (how they teach/work), vetting status, availability, and proposed interview windows.

Note: We share only what you need for compliance and onboarding. The school remains the regulated activity provider and is responsible for its SCR entries and decisions.
